Perfect Binding

A format where individual sheets are glued together at the spine to perfect bind your book, or it can also be used to with spiral binding, and certain sewn bindings like stab bindings.

You print the imposed file (with 2 or more pages printed on each side of the sheet of paper) but then cut the sheets down so you end up with pieces of paper with one page each, printed on each side. (This is different than typical Booklet format, where you’re working with “leaves” of paper with two sheets on each side, which are folded in half.)
